Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS)
Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) is a multi-tiered process for creating and maintaining safe and effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students.
At RSIS, we expect students to exhibit Safe, RESPECTFUL, and Responsible behaviors at all times. RSIS Students practice and revisit expectations throughout the school year to ensure all students are given the opportunity to attend a safe and respectful school climate.
Data is collected on Minor Incident Referrals (classroom handled behaviors) and Office Discipline Referrals (office managed behaviors) throughout the school year. This data is analyzed and helps determine reteaching of procedures and expectations.
Rewards and Incentives for Positive Behavior
Reinforcement is an acknowledgement that students can earn by demonstrating PBIS expected behaviors. Earning rewards for appropriate behavior will increase the number of students who engage in expected behaviors. All Students are given the opportunity to earn Dojo Points to spend in the school store, which is offered monthly.
