Students Help Classmate in Need

Sixth-grade students at RSIS showed how they are truly #ONEwiththePACK by working hard to support a classmate. A group recently organized a bake sale, originally with the goal to raise funds to help purchase additional playground equipment.

However, after learning about a recent tragedy experienced by a classmate, the students decided to donate half of the money to the peer in need.

The students came up with this idea of a bake sale while learning about ratios in math class, as they participated in activities that included different dessert recipes.

Student Jack Hamilton, who helped create this opportunity, said, “We really started by trying to find a way to get some additional playground items and when we learned about the recent incident with our classmate, we talked it over and thought it would be really nice to help him and his family.”
