Positive Behavior Intervention Support is a process for creating safer and more effective schools by structuring the learning environment to support the academic and social success of all students. The process supports the adoption and long-term implementation of efficient, effective, and consistent discipline throughout the school environment. PBIS methods are research-based and proven to significantly reduce the occurrence of problem behaviors in schools.
Rewards for Appropriate Behavior
Reinforcement is an acknowledgement that students can earn by demonstrating PBIS taught behaviors. Earning rewards for appropriate behavior will increase the number of students who engage in taught behaviors. Students are given the opportunity to earn Den Dollars to spend in the school store for positive behavior. Teachers and staff give frequent and specific verbal feedback to students. The school store is open every two weeks.
